A Field-Blend Tribute to Generations of Vineyard Care

Keuka Spring Winery has announced the release of its newest wine, the 2024 Epic Estate, a small-lot field blend handcrafted from grapes grown on one of Keuka Lake’s most storied vineyard sites.

The wine marks a milestone for the Simmons Family Vineyards, whose fruit forms the backbone of the new release. The Simmons family has farmed the site on the Bluff—directly across from Keuka Spring’s tasting room—since 1963, tending three generations of vines rooted in well-drained soils and shaped by the lake’s natural temperature moderation.

According to the winery, the Epic Estate was produced as a true Field Blend, with two grape varieties harvested and crushed together before undergoing co-fermentation in a single vessel. Winemakers say the technique preserves the “natural harmony” of the vineyard, allowing the expression of place to shine through without heavy cellar influence. After fermentation, the wine rested for six months in neutral oak to maintain purity of fruit.

In the glass, the 2024 Epic Estate shows a pale garnet hue and a bouquet loaded with bright red berries and warm spice. Aromas of pomegranate, cranberry, and red currant mingle with fresh thyme, menthol, black peppercorn, and clove. The palate is described as lively and textured, delivering juicy, tangy fruit framed by subtle notes of allspice and clove, finishing long and vibrant.

The winery says the new release is designed with the holiday season in mind. Suggested pairings include roasted poultry, grilled salmon, mushroom entrées, herb-crusted pork tenderloin, and charcuterie boards featuring soft-ripened cheeses.

The 2024 Epic Estate is now available through Keuka Spring Winery’s tasting room and online shop.  https://keukaspringvineyards.com/product/2024-estate-epic/
